The DAM, Digital Asset Manager is the media library included (or not) in the PIM
The DAM or Digital Asset Manager is a solution designed to store, manage and distribute digital media (digital assets) for marketing purposes.
It concerns the communication and marketing departments (advertising) but also the distribution networks (POS, catalogues, etc.).
In e-commerce, the DAM is very often associated with PIM software, in which case it is referred to as PIM /DAM. However, this DAM media library may or may not be included directly in PIM.
