What is a connector (or feed)?
A connector or flow is an automated mechanism that enablesdata to be exchanged between a PIM Product Information Management) and other systems, such as e-commerce sites, marketplaces, or ERPs. It acts as a bridge between a data source and a target, ensuring the synchronization and consistency of product information.
Connectors play a key role in the PIM ecosystem PIM ensuring:
- Automation of exchanges: These enable data to be imported or exported in a regular and structured manner, according to predefined rules (frequency, format, etc.).
- Data synchronization: They ensure that product information is up to date across all distribution channels, whether it's an e-commerce site, a marketplace, or a printed catalog.
- Integration with other tools: Connectors facilitate interoperability between PIM other solutions (ERP, CRM, DAM, etc.), thereby optimizing product data management.
