Document (or Product Sheet)
What Is a Document (Product Sheet)?
A document, or product sheet, is a structured format that brings together all the information needed to describe a product, service, or offering. It is based on a data model defined beforehand, often built into a PIM (Product Information Management) solution, to ensure the consistency and completeness of the information.
This document centralizes a variety of fields: technical specifications, marketing descriptions, visuals, pricing, logistics references, or attributes specific to a particular industry. For example, a product sheet for a clothing item will include information such as size, material, available colors, care instructions, and high-resolution visuals.
In an e-commerce or omnichannel context, the product sheet becomes a strategic lever: it feeds websites, marketplaces, printed catalogs, and mobile apps. A well-structured product sheet improves the customer experience, optimizes SEO, and makes it easier to manage product data at scale.
PIM plays a key role here: it makes it possible to create, enrich, and distribute these product sheets centrally, interfacing with other tools such as ERP, DAM (Digital Asset Management), or content management solutions. This ensures reliable, up-to-date product data, regardless of the distribution channel.
