B2B
What is B2B?
B2B (Business to Business) refers to commercial transactions between companies, as opposed to B2C (Business to Consumer), which targets individual consumers. This model relies on professional relationships, often built around contracts, large volumes, and longer sales cycles.
In product data management, B2B calls for precise, technical, and structured information. Catalogs need to be enriched with detailed attributes (reference numbers, specifications, volume pricing, etc.) to meet the needs of professional buyers. A PIM (Product Information Management) system then becomes essential: it centralizes, standardizes, and distributes this data to dedicated platforms (B2B marketplaces, e-commerce sites, ERP, etc.), while ensuring consistency and keeping it up to date.
By improving the quality and accessibility of information, B2B companies boost their commercial efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen their partners' trust.
